# Can my family apply with me for Spain’s digital nomad residence?

Yes. Under article 62.4 of Law 14/2013, your spouse or partner, minor children, adult children who depend on you financially and dependent parents can apply together with you or later. If they apply at the same time, UGE decides all the applications together. Each family member files a separate application (form MI-F) and pays their own fee. In 2026 the income requirement rises by €915.75 a month for the first family member and €305.25 for each additional one. Spain Visa Submit files each family member’s application for €80.

## Who can join you

Article 62.4 of Law 14/2013 lists a spouse or a partner in an equivalent relationship, minor children, adult children who depend on you financially and have not formed their own family, and dependent ascendants (parents). They can apply “conjunta y simultánea o sucesivamente”: together with you or later. When they apply at the same time as you, the applications are decided at the same time.

## How the applications are filed

Plataforma ONE says to fill in the family member form (MI-F) for each of them and file it together with yours. If a family member applies later, the family member can file the application. Each family member is a separate applicant with their own government fee (Modelo 790-038) and their own decision.

## Income for the family in 2026

UGE asks the main applicant for 200% of the minimum wage (SMI) per month. For a family, add at least 75% of the SMI for the first family member and 25% for each additional one. With the 2026 SMI of €1,221 a month (Royal Decree 126/2026), that is €2,442 for you alone, €3,357.75 with one family member and €3,663 with two. Spanish consulates publish the same figures, rounded to whole euros. The amounts are gross. If the family applies together with you, your income must cover everyone.

## Documents UGE lists for family members

A full copy of the passport, the fee receipt and proof of the relationship. For a spouse, a marriage certificate. For an unregistered partner, at least one year of living together, shown with at least two items such as a joint bank account, registration (empadronamiento) at the same address or a joint lease. For children, birth certificates, plus notarised consent from the other parent if a minor is not the child of both. Adult children aged 18 to 25 must show they have no income of their own, are unmarried and are studying or looking for work. Dependent parents need proof of real financial support for at least a year, and dependence is presumed for parents over 80. Foreign public documents need a sworn translation into Spanish and an apostille or legalisation.

## Health insurance and criminal records

Family members need health insurance valid in Spain without co-payments or waiting periods, unless they are covered as beneficiaries of your Spanish Social Security. A partner whose partnership is not in a public register cannot be a beneficiary and needs private insurance. Adults provide criminal record certificates for the last two years plus a sworn declaration covering five years. Children under 18 do not need them.

## Filing a family package with Spain Visa Submit

You can upload the whole family package in one private account. Each family member is a separate applicant at €80, and each gets their own official filing receipt.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can my unmarried partner apply with me?

Yes, as a partner in an equivalent relationship. If the partnership is not registered, UGE asks for proof of at least one year of living together, unless you have children together.

### Can my family apply after I get the permit?

Yes. Article 62.4 of Law 14/2013 allows family members to apply later. You then show that your income covers them with payslips or invoices for the three previous months and bank certificates.

### How much income do I need with a spouse and one child?

€3,663 gross a month in 2026: €2,442 for you, €915.75 for the first family member and €305.25 for the second.

### Can my spouse work in Spain?

UGE says yes: these residence permits allow residence and work without restrictions, as an employee or self-employed.

### Does each family member pay separately?

Yes. Each family member is a separate applicant with their own government fee. Spain Visa Submit charges €80 per applicant.
